Signing up for cash-card and Paypal

A lot of people have asked me how do you sign up for a cash/debit card and also a Paypal account. So I was thinking I could write it down here and redirect beginners on their way to online shopping

CASH/DEBIT CARD
First of all and most obviously you need to sign up for a cash card. It depends on the bank you're using. I'm using Baiduri MasterCard CashCard. The only thing you need is your IC and the registration free for the card (forgot how much though). This is a one-time payment (no annual/hidden fees), and your card will be valid for 3 years.

Make sure you deposit some money too (at least B$10 since this is the minimum balance for a transaction) after registering. Depending on the bank, all you do is wait for the card to be activated (the bank teller will inform you about this).

PAYPAL ACCOUNT
This is the tricky part. Just head up to www.paypal.com and register for an account. MAKE SURE you get all the details right especially your home address.

Once you sign-up, you will need to add your debit card details. Just follow the given instructions, enter your debit card number, etc.. If it wants the CSC digit, it is referring to the last three numbers on the back of your debit card.

After you've successful confirmed your debit card, PayPal will tell you something about a 4-digit code statement. Like I've said earlier, make sure you have at least some money in the card.

Wait for a few days (3-4 days), go to the bank or check your card/bank statement for a transaction from PayPal. On the transaction there will be a 4-digit code next to the word Paypal. This is the number you need.

Log in to your PayPal account,  click Confirm Credit Card and then enter the 4-digit code to confirm your card. Your account will now be fully activated and verified. Congratulations!

...to me. Been living on this earth for 21 years old now, damn. Now I do really feel that one. I mean like, it has been 2 decades! If only I could turn back time to about 10 years ago haha!

Bypassing ISP blockage

Some of you are probably not aware that our ISP (Internet Service Provider) are blocking certain websites that when opened, it just shows "Problem: site cannot be opened" or something like that; even though we know that website is still there and not down.

Earlier today I found out the simple solution, which is just by change your DNS (domain name system) settings. Just by using Google Public DNS I'm able to open www.gizmodo.com, which previously I wasn't able to access. Some photographic proof:

Settings for my Wi-Fi network. We only need to change the DNS.

DNS changed to the Google DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4)

The site works finally! This one is the mobile version.

There are other alternatives like OpenDNS, but I have yet to check that particular one out.

June 20

Yesterday my band and I were one of the applicants trying out for the B-Mobile Who's Got Talent 3 auditions which was held (for KB-ians) at OGDC. Unfortunately even though we've rehearsed our song (Far East Movement - Rocketeer) already, our performance was kinda...sloppy (?) because apparently there were no drums provided for the audition. Turns out we were also the only music band who applied in KB! Kinda disappointing also that there weren't many people who came to the audition; since we were expecting LOTSA people. I mean hey, where's our talented KBians??

In any case, the judge will give us a call if we were to be selected as the Top 30. Hopefully we can though.

Closer to June

28th May, it's already close to half of the year. 8 days left till my last semester exam, which is Systems Development. 8 days left till I became a NEET once again haha! If only I was going overseas this June holiday, I'd be even more happier =/ Anywhere than Brunei, since my last trip overseas was on January 1st. Yeah..

2 days ago I submitted my application form for the SSEAYP (Ship for South East Asia Youth Programme) along with my friend. Just tryin' out our luck here and if luck did struck here, then hello Tokyo in December! :D

Fifth month

It's already May. Today's the fourth to be exact. Nothing really much happening though, thought I'd just post something here write now. Can't believe it's already almost half of the year; time flows so fast unexpectedly. Next month will be my last at college, and I'm really gonna MISS my classmates a lot =(

Oh yea, sooo really not looking forward for my birthday; I just hate getting old somehow >_< Knowing that you've already lived for TWO decades old on this Earth is something I'm still not yet getting used to LOL. Wish I could turn back time to sweet sixteen or something hahahaa~

What else to write aaa... As I said, nothing much. Life's pretty dull and monotonous for me. Picking up lil bro from school and sending him back for Ugama on school days, and having afternoon classes on Monday and Wednesday. The rest of the time is mostly me infront of the computer; either browsing the web or watching anime. I rarely play my videogame consoles in my room despite my intention of turning it into some sort of 'game-room'. Kinda sucks to be lonely and longing haha; but I'll eventually find someone in the future aisehhhhhhh

That'll be it I guess, I'm off now~

Happy (?) April 20th..

It's been a while since I last seriously updated the blog; thought I might do it right now and today. Aha~

Kinda sleepy right now even though it's just 7:40PM; must've been tired from playing Killing Floor after class earlier haha. Got a group work and presentation comin' up next Wednesday; thank god my group is given pseudocode as our topic, since it's much easier to do research on.

Will be attending a NERF war this Sunday weekend at Giant Rimba. I thought I'd join in just for the heck of it even though I'm trying to distance myself from NERF stuff these days. I'm becoming more financially "broke" after I used most of it to buy the Nintendo 3DS haha. Wanna start savin' up some $$$ from now on.
